Om mig

Hi!

My name is Emma, and I'm 23 years old.

I'm from Denmark, Southern Jutland, and I live in a small town outside Sønderborg, with my boyfriend Lucas and our dog Maggie.

I've been drawing and painting ever since I could hold a pencil. In my teenage years, I started drawing portraits of celebrities and family members. I became known among friends and family as "the one who could draw incredibly well" and occasionally received a few commissions for portraits for family friends.

Throughout my life, I've struggled a lot with anxiety, so when I finished 9th grade, I couldn't imagine myself going to an efterskole (boarding school) or directly to high school. But then my grandmother saw an ad in the newspaper about Sønderjyllands Kunstskole (Southern Jutland Art School) in Sønderborg and their new program, which meant that young people from 16 years old could enroll in the school.

It was a one-year education where you thoroughly explored all forms of artistic expression. I was very happy to have gone there, and I learned a lot. After the first year, my friend and I, as the first ever, were allowed to take another year on their adult course.

After finishing art school, I took an HF (Higher Preparatory Examination) and took a long break of almost three years from drawing and painting.

It wasn't until December 2025, when an old primary school friend wrote to me and asked if I would help with a Christmas present for his girlfriend, that my creative spark reawakened. (Thanks, Johannes ♥)

I started painting and have barely stopped since. Painting is like therapy for me. The entire process from blank canvas to the finished result is one of the best things I know.
